Intermediate Photography

In this intense 30 hours course, mastering the language of photography is the main goal, not only technical but mainly intellectually and artistically. Attendees will experience what's it like to use photography as mean of expression, how to use photography as a language that can express themselves when words cannot.

Which means that the participants will represent ideas of projects they want to develop throughout the course and present it by the end of the course, it could be a personal visual diary or a story they want to tell and fit a format of printed small booklet. (Pictures from the outings won't be considered as final project)

(Pictures from the outings will NOT be considered as a final project. The project will be submitted in a form of a simple dummy book (text & pictures)

With over 20 hours of practical work, attendees will know more about advanced techniques of lighting, timing, Cl composition, storytelling, post processing, critique, story editing, and visual identity in the context of preparing their own stories along the course duration. Course Duration: 11 Sessions / 4 weeks / 2:30 hours
(7 indoors + 4 Fieldtrips + personal project).

3 Sessions per week

Thursdays from 6:30PM to 9:00PM
Fridays & Saturdays from 2:00PM to 4:30PM

COURSE OUTLINE:

1- Skills of researching ideas and developing Photography Projects and presentation.

2- Understanding lighting in Photography, and its importance in relation to Timing and Composition.

3- Essential non-Photographic skills, like approaching and handling subjects.

4- Use of Special advanced gear and advanced Camera techniques.

5- Basics of post processing skills to better impact.

6- Skills of Story editing, arranging, archiving, selecting and sequencing.

7- Familiarising attendees with the technicalities of their cameras, Mastering Exposure triangle through practicing in real life situations, undergoing changes under limitations.

8- Getting inspired by being exposed to great Photographs and great Photographers, Brain storming ideas, exchanging visual material and experiences.

9- Building and Strengthening a comprehensive visual identity and vision.

10- Adobe Bridge is a Must.

Course Requirements:
- DSLR Camera is a must (preferably Canon or Nikon)
- Personal Laptop
- Post Processing and Viewing softwares (Adobe Bridge, Photoshop, Lightroom, etc ..)
