Photopia and the World Press Photo Foundation are proud to bring a series of in-person educational workshops and events to Cairo and Alexandria in November.
This visit from the World Press Photo team is dedicated to sharing knowledge about photojournalism and documentary photography - to inspire and support a new generation of photographers. As part of the program, World Press Photo programs and outreach manager Anita Huynh and communications and projects manager Mercedes Almagro, will give editorial workshops, present lectures and participate in panel discussions. The WPP team will be joined by World Press Photo Contest winners Heba Khamis for portfolio reviews and the public talk, and Rehab El Dalil for the public talk and meet-up in Cairo.
World Press Photo is a global platform connecting the world to the stories that matter: the contest is one of the world’s most prestigious photography competitions, the exhibitions travel to 100 locations each year, and World Press Photo’s Instagram account has over 1.6 million followers across the globe.
This program is possible with the full support from the Dutch Embassy in Cairo.

With World Press Photo’s Anita Huynh and Mercedes Almagro.
