Photopia Photography school is gladly collaborating with the British International School in Cairo (BISC) to offer all October residents this comprehensive 6-week basics of photography Course by the renowned Aladin Abdel Naby. 

This 6-week photography course is designed to introduce the basics of the art of photography to the novice. The course will cover topics such as film vs. digital, shutter speed and aperture, automatic vs. manual control, depth of field, light sources, principles of composition and the basics of image editing using Photoshop. Participants will be given regular assignments through which they will get hands on experience in applying new skill and techniques.

Days: Mondays and Wednesdays  
PLUS Two Fridays: 2 field trips

- Exposure
- Motion
- Depth of field
- Light
- Composition
- Basics in Photoshop

Every week you will have an assignment on the new topic taken and at the end there will be 2 field trips once after composition and once after Photoshop.
 

Having a DSLR is a must / Certificates & materials included.

 

Location: British International School in Cairo (BISC) in SODIC West. Km. 38 Cairo-Alexandria desert road, Sheikh Zayed – Sixth of October City, Egypt

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:

Aladin Abdel Naby:

 

He has been working as a professional photographer since 1981, and in 1986, he joined Reuters News Agency. During his 20 years with Reuters, he covered major stories in Egypt North Africa, Central
Africa, the Middle East, the Gulf, Iraq and Iran. His work has been published in international newspapers and magazines including the cover
of Newsweek. After his retirement from Reuters in March, 2006, he travelled to Holland to attend the World Press Photo Foundations' (WPPH) "Training of the Trainers" course. Currently, Abdel Naby teaches photography and news-photography, does freelance commercial work and is
preparing for an exhibition.
